2. NATIONAL PARKS IN HP

Great Himalayan National Park – Great Himalayan National Park is one of India’s national parks, which is located in Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded on all the three sides by the Himalayan Mountains, the park is home to diverse wildlife species. Thre Area of Great Himalyan National Park is 905.4. The Great Himalayan National Park received the status of a national park in 1999. At present, it is home to more than 375 species of fauna, 31 species of mammals and 181 species of birds. This beautiful location of the national park becomes all the more attractive due to the Deodar and Oak trees.
Inderkilla National Park -Established in 2010, Inderkilla is a newly made National Park in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Sprawling over a vast area of 104 sq. km, the national park is home to several species of domestic and foreign flora and fauna and boasts of a flourishing rich wildlife. Area of this National Park is 94 sq kms. Considered to be one of the least explored national parks in India, the park also has a narrow trail passing through the heart of it which you can cover to spot animals and plants in their natural habitat.
Kheer Ganga National Park – The area of this national parks is 705 SqKmEstablished very recently in 2010, Khirganga National Park is located in Kullu and is known to be one of the most beautiful national parks in the country. Blessed with a scintillating landscape, glossy green hills, dense green shrubberies, tall towering trees and rusty old rest houses, the national park is nothing but a pure visual delight and visiting it is definitely an experience in itself.
Pin Valley National Park– Set amidst semi-frozen rivers in the Pin Valley, the Pin Valley National Park is situated in the Cold Desert Biosphere Reserve situated in the Lahaul and Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh. The elevation of the park ranges from about 3,500 metres near Ka Dogri to more than 6,000 metres at its pinnacle. One of the fascinating facilities of its kind, the Pin Valley National Park is home to the rare species of famous Himalayan snow leopards and their prey, the Ibex.
Simbalbara– National Park- A wildlife sanctuary that is home to various migratory birds and wild animals is a hotspot of Nahan. Area of this National Park is 27.88 sq kms. It consists of sal forests and lush green grassland with meandering streams in this natural part of Shivaliks.
